Located at the northern end of the Costa Blanca, Gandía is a great place to spend a family holiday and an ideal town to use as a base for excursions to the better known and more commercialised parts of the coast. Once you have had your fill of the facilities of the busier parts of the coast, you can then retreat to the relative peace and calm of Gandía and its surroundings. The most obvious place on the Costa Blanca for theme parks, water parks and loads of family holiday fun and entertainment is the resort of Benidorm. Famous – or infamous – for its high-rise buildings and low-cost package holidays, Benidorm is also a great place to visit whilst on holiday in the area. You can make the most of what it has to offer for a day’s excursion, and then drive the easy 40 minute trip back up the motorway to your rural base in the Gandía area.
Dolphin shows, bird displays, sea-lion demonstrations and lots more of interest to animal lovers are all to be found at the Mundo Mar complex, situated on the outskirts of Benidorm, and close by the Aqualandia water theme park. The two parks are under the same ownership and share a car park, so you can buy an advantageously priced joint ticket and split your day between the two attractions.
Holidaymakers of all nationalities and ages find so much to see and do along the Costa Blanca generally, that it is easy to combine the requirements of a conventional family holiday with those of the teenage family member who wants to spend their vacation time in the same place as the rest of the family, but able to access other sources of entertainment during the same holiday. For the same reason, young couples will also find plenty of suitable entertainment and leisure facilities at their disposal for their ideal holiday as well.
